The Farmer & his Wife

Dan and Sarah Dunning started running Whitney Farm in the spring of 2008. The farm represents an opportunity to realise the dream of running their own farm, producing fresh, free range and most importantly - very tasty farm produce.

Dan and Sarah met in 2003 and were married in July 2006. Having grown up on a family farm in Somerset, Dan has been involved with producing Geese, Beef, Lamb and Cereals for over 20 years. He has also spent time working for a company supplying seeds to farmers all over the country. Sarah was also born in Somerset. She is a full time mum to little Lily and Mille, whilst also helping to run Whitney Farm.

Passionate about Farm Produce

Food and farming go hand in hand, with both being extremely important to Dan and Sarah. Running a farm in the current agricultural climate is quite a task, they relish this challenge, believing their love of food and attention to detail gives them the edge when it comes to the quality of their products and service.

Whitney Farm

Whitney Farm is a 73 acre grassland farm with a small Cider apple orchard, situated just outside of Ilminster in Somerset. Nestling at the foot of the Blackdown Hills places us in an idyllic spot to rear some of the tastiest free range geese and beef.

The farm is home to a flock of Geese and a naturally matured small herd of native breed beef cattle. All our animals are reared using traditional methods to the highest welfare standards and are fed on home and locally grown feeds.
